Though it has been more than two decades since I left, I have longed for the land of my ancestors. Each time I visited my beloved Long-An hometown, I grew more disheartened as I watched the landscape change, and as the once lush green fields withered away.

The farmers of Long-An told me that the soil was no longer fertile enough for growing rice, and so the farmers were forced to settle for resilient orchards of dragon fruit trees. The soil at my grandmother’s hometown of Vinh Long also suffered from the same blight, and so the farmers desperately planted oranges in hope of better profitability. Year after year, I watched helplessly as the farmers battled the soil, and I longed for an answer. How could I make the land more fertile? How could I restore the livelihood of our farmers, and reunite my hometown with joyful laughter?

Years later, I graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a major in Business Administration. Though my agricultural knowledge was limited, I was introduced to the inventor of Vermitechnology. He was a retired pharmacist from the U.S. Navy who, disturbed by the catastrophic long-term effects of pesticides, devoted forty years to studying and perfecting an organic fertilizer and compost product that did not require a pesticide. We discovered that Vermitechnology would be suitable for the climate in Southeast Asia, and we signed an exclusive contract to distribute his product to the Asian market.

My commitment to Jasmine Nguyen of Mekong Trading, Inc. is to provide our proven sustainable products that are needed for growing plants with the highest nutrient value with great  taste and flavor. We have reduced our profits to help Jasmine provide our products to the farmers at the lowest possible price. I was born and raised on a farm in the Midwest USA and I know the hard work it takes to farm the land. I also remember how hard it was to make a profit with the high cost of the chemicals that were used on our farm. 

We produce products to grow organic foods and other plants. Our products are proven to increase production with no harm to the earth or the people consuming foods grown with our products. We have an excellent record of satisfaction from our customers. All of our microbes that we use are harvested from their native soils habitat. We have pure strains of microbes that have come from native soils in various parts of the USA and overseas. The best strains are selected and cultured at our facility to be used in our sustainable organic fertilizers. We have 90 native microbes that do some pretty wonderful things such as to sequester nitrogen from the air we breathe. Our greatest source of nitrogen is NOT from China, but from the atmosphere.

We have proven ourselves by providing organic nutrients to many high profile projects. Some of the projects using our products are The World Trade Center Memorial Park (New York City); Yankee Baseball Stadium roof top gardens on their parking garage; the 2010 World Series Baseball field in San Francisco was played on turf grown with our products. Some of the other users of our products are Pixar Studios; many large university’s playing fields; Universal Studios (Orlando, FL) and well know golf courses. 

In support of Mekong Trading, Inc. we are going to purchase of a 5 acre industrial park to build warehouse and outbuilding. This facility will be the Vermi Central for the production of Black Castings, Worm Fusion and 12 other products that will be available to Jasmine. It will also be a research center and we will be connected with Clemson University assisting us with our research projects. Some of the buildings will require a lot of worms to bring them up to our standard. We are making sure that we have everything we need to have enough space to expand as Mekong Trading, Inc. increases their marketing areas.

We also hope to work hard to get the farmers using our growing products so their produce can be Certified Organic by our US Department of Agriculture and sold in the USA. We have connections with the Organic Food Market and will work with Jasmine to introduce her to the buyers of the Organic Certified Produce.
